| Contractor Information
Contractors will be selected for participation in
the housing program regardless of race, color, religion,
familial status, age, national origin, sex, or disability.
Bid packages will be sent to
all contractors on the HDC contractor list and additional
contractors when requested. Bids must be submitted based on
specifications prepared by HDC staff. All contracts for work
exceeding $10,000 or involving more than three trades will be
bid to general contractors only. Projects less than $10,000 and
involving no more than three trades may be bid to
subcontractors. Please see HDC’s Program Guidelines Manual
Section II – Site Selection & Construction Process for specific
details on HDC’s construction process.
New home construction will
be approximately 1100 sq.ft., 2 x 4 construction, 3 bedrooms, 1
½ baths, 1 car garage. All new construction must meet MSHDA’s
Energy Efficiency requirements and be built by a reputable,
licensed contractor.
In order to conduct business
with HDC, contractors must complete the “builder information and
Reference Sheet and provide copies of their residential
builder’s license, public liability and workers compensation
insurance, W-9, credit report, and the names of three business
references to HDC.
Minimum MSHDA Contractor
Qualifications:
ü Hold a valid Contractor’s
License
ü Hold a valid license as
required by law for any other skilled trades in which they are
engaged.
ü Has in force insurance
coverage (liability, workers comp, etc.) as required by law.
ü Is not on the current HUD
list of debarred contractors.
ü Contractors must also meet
the Minimum HDC Performance Standards
